Greetings from the West Texas Headquarters For The Vast Right Wing Conspiratorial Jingoistic Gun Owning Unsophisticated Voters. I heard a Democrat hack speaking this morning about the voters in Virginia and New Jersey and he said that the “Sophisticated Voters” just didn’t turn out. Looks like the “Unsophisticated Voters” made up for it by turning out in pretty good numbers.
ELECTION:
Here in Texas, just as in the rest of the country, yesterday was election day. We didn’t have nearly the coverage on our election as did Virginia, New Jersey, and New York. I would first of all like to congratulate the “Unsophisticated Voters” of Virginia and New Jersey for kicking out some real mutts in their respective Gubernatorial races, (For those sophisticated folks presently residing in the People’s Republic of San Francisco, that would be the races for Governor of those two states). About a hour ago I was watching FOX News and really got caught up in the excitement of awaiting the views on the elections by former Congresswoman Geraldine Ferraro, who is also a “Yellow Dog” Democrat. It was sort of like awaiting Louis Farrakhan’s views on Caucasian Christians. You probably were already aware of her views and had already made up your mind that your opinion on her views were sort of like Rhett Butler’s opinion of Scarlet’s wishes at the end of “Gone With The Wind”; “Frankly my dear, I don’t give a damn”.
And that is precisely how much I care about Geraldine Ferraro’s thoughts. Anyone with a brain could see that Barack Hussein Obama and the Democrat Party were counting on Democrat victories in both New Jersey and Virginia. Obama made FIVE recent trips to the state of New Jersey and THREE to the state of Virginia with the hopes of garnering some support for the two incumbents. Apparently the unsophisticated voters of both those states weren’t buying Obama’s brand of political pandering. Could it be that perhaps the world’s most articulate and intelligent human is less than Godlike after all?
Our election here in San Angelo was much milder. We did have 11 Constitutional Amendments (And for those of you currently being held hostage in the Gulag of Austin, that would be the TEXAS CONSTITUTION). Yes, our state just as the other 49 United States does have its own Constitution. Most of our Constitutional Amendments dealt with eminent domain and taxing authority. I know all of the Amendments passed here in Tom Green County but I have not heard yet how they did state wide. We also had to elect a Mayor here to replace our previous Mayor who days after being re-elected announced that he was running off to Mexico with his “Significant Other” who happened to be another dude who was a Mexican Citizen.
Anyway there were seven candidates for this job and since no candidate got the 1 vote over 50%, so there will be a runoff election next month. Our Mayor’s position pays a whopping $50 per month and the Mayor presides over council meetings and signs proclamations and ordinances and it is basically a part-time job with a big title and very little power. What makes me wonder about all of the candidates is why anyone would spend good money seeking this position.
Still on the subject of the election, the 23rd Congressional District in New York had a pretty interesting race in which there were three persons running, The Democrat Candidate, Bill Owens; The Republican Candidate, Dede Scozaffava; and The Conservative Party Candidate, Doug Hoffman. The unusual thing about this race, as I understand it, was that the Democrat Candidate was actually not as liberal as the Republican Candidate, Dede Scozaffava.
Who is Dede Scozaffava, you ask? As a New York Assembly woman, she voted to impose binding arbitration on public employees, stripping workers of the right to vote on their own contracts. She also voted for Card Check, forced unionism bill, S. B. 560 which is pending before Congress right now. This bill would eliminate the secret ballot, force workers to accept mandatory binding arbitration, and give broad new power over workers to Big Labor. How this squack got to be the Republican nominee is beyond comprehension. Of course at the very last moment, she removed herself from the race for the seat as the U.S. Representative for New York’s 23rd Congressional District. But of course that is not the end of the story. SHE THREW HER SUPPORT TO THE DEMOCRAT CANDIDATE, Bill Owens, but her name was already on the ballot so there it remained. The Conservative Party Candidate was not a professional politician. He was an accountant and from all indications was a true conservative whereas Mrs. Scozaffava was not.
Now, here is something else about this particular race and the candidacy of Mrs. Scozaffava. Who endorsed her candidacy? Why none other than former Republican House Speaker NEWT GINGRICH. Here lately I have received a whole bunch of e-mails containing a quote from NEWT GINGRICH. I have also noticed that while NEWT talks a really good game, he rarely follows through with any of his ideas. So let’s look at NEWT on this particular endorsement:
NEWT GINGRICH has been claiming that the fight against Card Check is one of the biggest issues for his group, American Solutions. If my memory is correct, and I am sure that it is, I seem to remember receiving some mail from American Solutions in which NEWT GINGRICH was putting the touch on me for a donation to his organization.
In short, it appears to me that NEWT GINGRICH is more about NEWT GINGRICH than he is about our country. Remind you of anyone else currently in power? And just so there is no doubt about what my position is on NEWT and his organization, I think it is unforgivable for someone who is supposed to be so politically astute as NEWT, to support an obvious far left candidate REGARDLESS OF PARTY AFFILIATION. I believe that Mr. Gingrich is more interested in feathering his own nest than doing what is right. Perhaps NEWT should team up with Geraldine Ferraro and they could have their own political opinion program on, MSNBC perhaps. Anyway, Newt Gingrich has lost me and I must really question the validity of listening to any of these former politicians. Newt seems to talk a good game but his actual play leaves something to be desired.
Does the phrase “Symbolism over substance” seem to fit?
I also read where this Scozaffava squack also got the endorsement of the RNC and ACORN. Looks like ACORN were the only ones who knew what they were really doing. But I could be wrong.
MODERATE:
Over the past couple of years we have heard the terms “MODERATE” and “INDEPENDENT” and “CENTRIST” thrown around quite a bit in political discussions. As you all know that my opinion of the term moderate is not one of endearment in my eyes. I am also beginning to have the same opinion of the term centrist. According to my Websters’ Dictionary here are the definitions of these above mentioned words:
MODERATE – mild, calm, avoiding extremes, of medium quality, one holding moderate opinions
CENTRIST – a person with moderate political opinions
INDEPENDENT – free from the influence or control of others, self governing, self-reliant, not adhering to any political party, not depending on another for financial support, one who is independent in thinking or action
So as you can see there is little difference in the words moderate and centrist. But there is quite a difference in those two words and the word independent.
As I have stated in the past, the last time I was really moderate on anything was when I was probably about 8 or 9 years old and this question was posed to me: Who would win in a fight? Superman, Captain Marvel, or Batman.
I thought on this for a moment and since I liked all three of the super heroes, I immediately ruled out Batman. While Batman had some really cool tools and equipment, he possessed no super powers.
Then I thought that both Superman and Captain Marvel both had super powers BUT Captain Marvel had an alter ego in the form of Billy Batson, who in order to become Captain Marvel had to utter the word, SHAZAM, and then he would be transformed into Captain Marvel.
AH! But Superman, even in disguise as mild mannered reporter, Clark Kent, still possessed his super powers. So my moderate thinking became not so moderate in a pretty short time.
And remember the old saying, the only thing you find in the middle of the road are yellow stripes and dead armadillos. Or if you straddle a fence long enough you will end up with a sharp stake up your backside.
So, in short, I am getting pretty sick of O’Reilly and a whole bunch of the other news varmints telling us that the American people are really searching for a “Centrist” or a “Moderate”, when in reality we are looking for a candidate and elected officials who are more “Independent” in their thoughts and actions. We don’t want someone who is extreme to either side of the political spectrum but I sure believe that most independents have brains enough to know that you cannot borrow or tax your way out of financial problems. And I believe that most conservatives in fact are more independent in their thinking than any and all “Centrists”, “Moderates” and “Liberals”

QUOTES:
“It seems as if so many people have invested so much hope and trust in Barack Obama that it is intolerable that anyone should come along and stir up any doubts that could threaten their house of cards.”… THOMAS SOWELL
“No one — not even the President of the United states —— has an entitlement to a positive response to his actions. The entitlement mentality has eroded the once common belief that you earned things, including respect, instead of being given them.”…THOMAS SOWELL
“As far as the benefit of the doubt, no one —— especially not the President of the United States —- is entitled to that, when his actions can jeopardize the rights of 300 million Americans domestically and the security of the nation in an international jungle, where nuclear weapons may soon be in the hands of people with suicidal fanaticism. Will it take a mushroom cloud over an American city to make that clear? Was 9/11 not enough?”… THOMAS SOWELL
“It is weakness rather than wickedness which renders men unfit to be trusted with unlimited power.”… JOHN ADAMS

PELOSI:
On Thursday, October 29, 2009 I listened briefly to Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi when she uttered this lie: “We have listened to the American People”. A short while later the House came out with a 1,990 page healthcare bill.
Steny Hoyer praised the Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi.
The Speaker of the House then praised House Majority Leader, Steny Hoyer.
Then we were assured that this legislation was “Open and Above Board”.
WHAT A LOAD OF CRAP!!!!
What the House Speaker and the House Majority Leader neglected to tell us was that:
-
* The cost of this legislation was $1.3 TRILLION, or about $500 million per page.
* The bill would be financed through massive debt and tax hikes
* There were 13 new ways to raise taxes
* Americans would be forced to purchase this health insurance, whether they wanted to or not.
* Increase insurance premiums and decrease access to health care.
* Create 111 NEW FEDERAL BUREAUCRACIES
* Cost Texas 15,000 jobs by having the government shut down doctor-owned hospitals
Either later that night or maybe the next day I was watching an interview with a Democrat Congressman. I got in after the interview started and didn’t see them flash his name. Anyway, this guy is doing his best to make chicken shit taste like chicken salad and he made this statement: Oh, we know the cost will increase, BUT, it just won’t increase as fast as it would without this legislation.
HEY!!! Haven’t they been telling us that the cost of health insurance would actually go down under this government run system?
These people cannot remember from one day to the next which lies they have told nor to whom they have been told.
Once again, prior to 1998 I personally had not been troubled with many medical bills for myself. But in 1998 I had some major surgery and if memory serves me correctly my medical expenses for this particular problem including one week in Methodist Hospital in Lubbock, Texas were over $40,000, Then in 2001, I spent one week in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at the University Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. Since that time I have had two eye surgeries and my wife has had three eye surgeries.
Now up until that time, I had paid health care premiums since 1958. And with the exception of the birth of our daughter and a couple of trips for my wife to a hospital we were fortunate to not have a whole bunch of medical expenses. The insurance we had at the time was a very high deductible with most of the insurance covering only major medical expenses. So from 1958 until the 1990’s we paid most of our medical costs but the health care insurance did kick in on some major expenses after our deductible had been met. Since 1997, I have been out about $1,000 expense out of my pocket. The rest has been paid by my insurance company. You know, that obscene profit seeking insurance company. You know, the insurance company we are not to trust but rather trust a socialist president who has lied to us at every turn, and a Congress who has equaled him on the truth-o-meter.
Just perhaps the election results from yesterday will send a message that even these idiots can understand, keeping in mind that they all act as if they possessed a brain roughly the size of an un-soaked black eyed pea. (Now for those of you residing in the Freedom Loving Worker’s Province of Massachusetts, that is damn small).
STUFF:
As I sit here sounding off and feeling like I am preaching to the choir, I am looking at a photograph which was sent to us by our daughter last evening. It is a photograph of a really good looking, blond haired, 12 year old young man who is our next to youngest grandson. The handsome young man is holding a rifle in the photograph.
Also in this photograph is a really nice 6 X 5 bull elk. The elk of course is dead. I will not mention the location of this elk shooting for fear that the PETA police will be after us all. This was a really proud young man when he called his ol’ Grandpa last night.
He gave me a rundown of the hunt and the only thing I was unhappy about was that I was not with them. I was with our daughter when she shot her first white-tail deer when she was 8 or 9. I was also with my oldest grandson when he shot his first mule deer when he was about 12. Of course, my daughter and her family eat quite a bit of wild game on their regular diet and it is way better than most people could imagine.
My son-in-law also took some photographs of an absolute huge elk herd. He said that he lost count of the bulls in the herd at about 86. And of course the cows way outnumbered the bulls. I really would loved to have seen an elk herd that large. Probably a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Last week we were all able to see just how far Barack Hussein Obama will go to promote his absolute favorite subject………. HIMSELF.
At a military base near Washington, D.C. the bodies of military personnel killed in Afghanistan were being flown in. Barack Hussein Obama attended this ceremony. I don’t care what the political persuasion of a president is if he is honoring our troops. But what does grate on my nerves a bit is that the media was notified of this event and the whole thing turned into a photo op for Obama. I really do wish I could look at it in a different light but I can’t. I have read and heard about the many times that President George W. Bush met the incoming aircraft with the coffins of the deceased men/women of our armed forces. Funny thing is that you heard about it much later and I cannot remember ever seeing him use this as a political move.

I will leave until next week with this quote and when you think of the stuff being pulled by ACORN in league with the Obama administration, you need to think of this short quote:
-
“It is enough that the people know there was an election. The people who cast the votes decide nothing. The people who count the votes decide everything.”… JOSEPH STALIN
Keep that quote in mind.
