The 1000 page “Knee-cap Our Trade Bill [Laura Ingrahm's coinage], is an utter abomination that dropped yesterday or the day before. It is an affront to honesty, freedom and decency.
Republicans hadn’t seen it before. There were no hearings. This totalitarian crap-pile won’t withstand scrutiny or debate, so it just gets loaded onto a steam-roller. And if the original wasn’t bad enough, pig-face Waxman [D-CA] added 300 more indecipherable and obscene pages to it, by dropping an amendment at 3:09 AM Fri. morning. It seems evil never sleeps.
This Bill is intended to strangle us, based on the Democrats premise that strangulation, and death are the only answer to our energy and climate “problems”.
“Problems” which exist only in the toxic agenda of these dead-eyed, soulless assassins.
Despite objections and interruptions by the agitated Waxie, who claims co-authorship of the thing with Marxist Markey [D-MA]; Minority Leader Boehner [R-OH] spent a valiant hour last evening reading from comrade Waxman’s 11th hour, 300 page amendments. Don’t think the Federal Government is big enough? Don’t think it spends enough? Don’t think it stomps on freedom enough? Then this is your Bill! Boehner said it was the worst thing in the history of Congress. Yes, that is saying a lot, but after listening to Boehner’s recital, I really don’t think it’s an exaggeration.
The whole exercise was an appalling example of the House “process”,,,, of our democratic “process” in 2009. Democrats write the Bill in secret. No input from GOP members. And then they roll out something so massive, so expensive, and so debilitating, that serious analysis of the damage would take weeks. But they only allow hours for Members to understand its central provisions. They’re bad enough, but the reason it’s 1000 pages, or quickly 1300, is not to state the central provisions. There are hundreds and hundreds of other things inserted which collectively, are even worse that the, “central provisions”.
This House of Representatives is nothing more than a loathsome, Bolshevik throw-back. All for the regime. Don’t disagree with the opposition. Destroy the opposition by any means available. Is any of this stuff they’re doing Constitutional? Does anyone care? Revered Democrat crooks, thugs and degenerates roam the House like royalty.
Speaking of “crooks”, this question: If an 80 year old, Republican Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee had a 44 year old wife with a history of impropriety and swindling; and this woman had pleaded guilty to taking bribes as an elected politician, within his blighted District; wouldn’t this be a subject of great notoriety and inquiry, including their favorite: What did he know; and when did he know it? Especially if this plea meant Mr. Chairman’s bride would be doing 3 to 5 years in a Federal prison?
Well yes– but the operative phrase in that hypothesis is, “Republican Chairman”. The true Chairman, in this true report is cranky, Democrat racist, John Conyers, who in his 40 years of Congressional “brilliance”, and municipal leadership, has left Detroit in a state of hopeless ruin, that was unimaginable before Conyers started his hideous career.
So in this case the “Charlie Rangel treatment” is applied by the state-run media.
Incidentally after one of her toxic, anti-white rants was revealed, Madame Conyers learnedly explained that the comments were permissible, because persons of color “can’t be racist”. We learn something every day!
On the climate swindle, let’s just hope the piece below is accurate. Jim Inhofe has been the hero in the battle against those who would destroy our economy and our future by granting legitimacy to this fiction of climate [formerly: global warming] and fantasy of alternative energy.
John McCain has been on the other side, the wrong side. We can only hope a serious AZ primary challenge is mounted against him in 2010. With his relentless sabotage of the Bush Administration; his alliance with Left extremist Feingold on the Anti-Republican, Campaign Finance Reform; his reprehensible partnership with Kennedy on immigration amnesty; his putrid Elmer Fudd presidential campaign; and his clinging to the Democrat hoax of “climate change”; this is clear: America will be far better served with a real Republican in his seat, whether Lefty Lieberman likes it or not.
SideBear: I had the distinct impression after watching votes being bought on the House floor that I was watching an outdoor flea market where anything can be bought for cash under the table.
Think what you will about the Waxman-Markey bill (I’m not a fan, to put it mildly), but the way it has been pushed through (the whole ‘unread’ thing, to start with) reflects extraordinarily poorly on the American political system. – Andrew Stuttaford
