The Truth About Taxes, 1939

Campaign videos have come a long way, but this is a fascinating look at political history. The below clip is a 10-minute video the Republican National Committee commissioned in 1939 to help Wendell Wilkie win the 1940 election against FDR. Entitled “The Truth About Taxes,” the short video attacks the New Deal for its burdensome tax increases, wasteful spending, and general expansion of government.
