This too long and somewhat juvenile piece contains this important kernel of truth. The polls, in this case Gallup is the subject, are being manipulated to find more favorable news for Obama. It all has to do with weighting. That is what % of each political classification is included to make your 100%.
Using Obama-friendly ratios, the 9/18 Gallup result shows Obama leading 48% to 44%.
Wizbang then polled using the party affiliation numbers obtained from ten years of exit polling. Those results: McCain approx 46% and Obama approx 40%. Just about every poll you will see is using the Gallup formulation.
