The Audacity of The Queen of Partisanship

Congress is about to adjoin at the end of this week until after Labor Day WITHOUT addressing the problem of energy prices, the need for drilling and $4 gasoline at the pump. This is a total disgrace and the President has every right and should do so to call Congress back into session.
What Congress has done by going on vacation is making a statement to the people of this country, it is your problem, deal with it and we are not interested in your welfare.
Now as Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi is third in line for the Presidency should disaster strike and certainly this is one of the most powerful positions in Washington but I am unaware of any provisions in the Constitution other that the Speaker is nothing more than the head of a legislative body representing the people.
Our proclaimed Queen in waiting has taken it upon herself to not allow any vote by the representatives of the people on what has become the major issue of the day, DRILLING. This is the only country in the world that prohibits it citizens from using their own natural resources.
At what point did We the People give up all our rights as set forth in the Constitution to be governed by one person. The right to have open debate and voting, especially one of this magnitude, is crucial to a Democracy.
At what point did the People’s House become her “personal house” where we all have become servants to the Queen’s petty partisanships.
At what point did our system of government become a monarchy?
Explaining why she refuses to even allow a debate, let alone a vote, on expanded offshore drilling (A position that an overwhelming majority of Americans support) Pelosi stated…
-
“I’m trying to save the planet; I’m trying to save the planet. I will not have this debate trivialized by their excuse for their failed policy.”
TRIVAL????…Only a person immersed in arrogance behind belief could make such a statement. And while she is single handily trying to save the planet a wrecking ball is falling on the American economy.
Her motivations are very clear why she will not allow a vote because she knows very well she will loose the vote. Nancy Pelosi is one of the most partisan hacks that has come along in decades on the Congressional scene. With her it is all about gaining more power and $$$$’s from the Eco-Lobby and if the average person in this country must suffer from her greed than so be it.
And how has this all come about? Because the “Queen” decreed it!

Two points:
First, can anyone think of a modern, industrialized country, other than ours, that actually restricts its access to energy?
And second, she doesn’t want to ultimately subject Obama to a “no” vote in the Senate, on the record, before the election. Nice of her.
The fact remains the United States is in no position to switch to a non-oil-based energy source. Not even close. One would think, especially given the volatility in the middle east, and the increasing provocations by Iran, that we, as a nation, would want to lessen our dependence on foreign oil, not increase it, where our enemies can withhold the oil and further harm our country.
Where is the press? Where is the Republican party? Every day should feature a litany of inquisitors interrogating any Democrat voting to block our access to our own oil. Instead, like Obama, they are getting a free pass. In addition, it is time for McCain to campaign on who he is and what he believes, instead of appearing petty in attacking Obama. If he doesn’t alter his strategy, he will loose. He should ignore Obama and let his VP candidate and the party do the dirty work with Obama.
