Shutdown Pelosi’s House!

Get ready for a battle royal that is about to come in September when our Congressional buffoons return from their Mid Summer’s vacation.
They have taken a five week hiatus from the real world and after Labor Day they will have to deal with the real world and real problems, to which I add, you can not hide from the American Public forever. Never was there a collection of self-indulgent idiots in one place at one time as we have in this present Congress. Needless to say, they have the lowest approval rating in history (14%) because they Earned It.
Come September 30th, the last day Congress will be session before the election, they will have to stand up and be counted because the moratorium on off shore drilling expires. This will be the day of where no more hiding, no more B.S. either you vote for or against drilling.
Comrade Pelosi who believes she owns the People’s House will try and do an end run around the off shore drilling moratorium by attaching it to the appropriations bill for 2009. (This bill funds the government and without funds many government agencies will be shut down.)
Then the Democrats will move into phase two of their scare tactics by stating that the American People will not receive many services that they need which is just another pack of political lies and deceit.
Believe me Ladies and Gents a head on confrontation is just what we need at this time and if it takes a government shutdown, so be it. We have gone far beyond the point where common sense comes into play over our energy policies. Partisan politics has put our national security and economy at risk and none of these people seem to give a damn about the welfare of the country.
The debate over drilling has reached such an idiotic level and it has become silly. The only solutions that the No-Drill Congress have offered is to sue OPEC which I sure will really scare the hell out of a lot Arab sheiks and Obama our would be Mechanic-in-Chief suggestion that we can “inflate our tires” as a way out of gas price crises. Another proposal by the Democrats calls for releasing 70 million barrels of oil from the Strategic Oil Reserve which equates to 3 1/2 day supply of oil. All of these proposals are beyond meaningless; they are like putting a Band-Aid on a patient who is hemorrhaging. I would expect more from those who lead our country than silly childish rhetoric, but then again, my expectations may be too high.
We the People are winning this battle with the No-Drill Congress and if we let our voices be heard they will crumble crackers.
For a lot of these clowns October 1st will not come soon enough as they will take another break and go home to campaign for reelection. They will beg for your vote and glad hand anyone who comes along and exclaim the wonders that they have accomplished but just ask yourself one question. What have they done for the welfare of the people of this country?
I hope you will join me come September when D-Day (Drill Day) comes and send a fax or e-mail to your Representative and Senator with one word in it. SHUT-IT-DOWN!

GOP: Lift drilling ban or risk shutdown
The showdown on Capitol Hill over expanding offshore drilling could lead to a threatened government shutdown when Congress returns from its five-week summer break in early September.
Some Republicans say they are prepared to vote against a resolution to fund the federal government for the 2009 fiscal year unless Democrats agree to lift an offshore drilling moratorium. If the budget resolution fails, many agencies and departments would be denied money to operate and would be forced to close.

Pelosi: At-risk Dems back drilling
California Democrat Nancy Pelosi may be trying to save the planet — but the rank and file in her party increasingly are just trying to save their political hides when it comes to gas prices as Republicans apply more and more rhetorical muscle.
But what looks like intraparty tension on the surface is part of an intentional strategy in which Pelosi takes the heat on energy policy, while behind the scenes she’s encouraging vulnerable Democrats to express their independence if it helps them politically, according to Democratic aides on and off Capitol Hill.
Pelosi’s gambit rests on one big assumption: that Democrats will own Washington after the election and will be able to craft a sweeping energy policy that is heavy on conservation and fuel alternatives while allowing for some new oil drilling. Democrats see no need to make major concessions on energy policy with a party poised to lose seats in both chambers in just three months — even if recess-averse Republicans continue to pound away on the issue.

Indeed, Congress must vote before Sept. 30 to renew the annual moratorium; otherwise, it will lapse on its own, giving states the right to decide whether private companies can search for potential drilling sites three miles offshore. .

Even as they face heat from constituents during the August break, Democrats say they aren’t going to cave in to popular pressure.
Barack Obama: oil change you can believe in
What a hoot. The Mike Dukakis moment in 1988 was the ridiculous photo op in the M-1 Abrams tank; John Kerry’s in 2004 was windsurfing. The Obama moment is Barack decked out in a Jiffy Lube service attendant uniform. And Barack has more than one suggestion straight out of Popular Mechanics magazine . He also says drivers should make sure their cars have a “tune-up”. Of course, with electronic ignitions and spark plugs lasting 100,000 miles, the last car to have need for a tune-up was a 1976 Plymouth Duster-fitting since that was the beginning of the Jimmy Carter presidency. Barack, the Auto Mechanic-In-Chief, would have as much trouble finding a set of points, a condenser and distributor rotor to “tune” as he has in finding a domestic energy policy that makes sense to anyone.

“GOP: Lift drilling ban or risk shutdown”
This needs to be a promise, not just a threat.
The charade is over! There is too much at stake with our national security with the current and coming problems in the world not to reverse our dependency now, period.
No deals. No compromises that do not end this dependent state.
To the congress members that think they only have to listen to those in their own zip code, think again. You are making national decisions that affect our children.
Reality is that this country has no alternative but to use our own resources, wherever they may be found or invented, and we also need to reform the legal system that allows a few lawyers to get together and throw wrench in the system that shuts down all progress and costs the American people billions of dollars in extra expense.
It is time for the Democrats to give up this Holy Grail of supporting all measures proposed by environmental extremists whom are not interested in any solution. They believe that there is too much of everything, including people and do not want any progress of any kind.
All energy sources need to be allowed in this country while using and retrieving them in a safe and sound manner.
Do it all! Do it now! We will not let up!
