“Murphy’s Law” by Jim Murphy

Hello once again from the West Texas Regional Headquarters For Intolerant Jingoistic Gun Clingers. Lots of stuff going on this week.
First, I wish you all a very Happy Independence Day. (For those of you residing in the People’s Republic of San Francisco, that would be July 4th).
Let me first address a few things that the critics have written and said about the President of the United States:
-
A man of quiet strength. He takes very few friends into complete confidence. His critics mistake his quiet reserve for pomposity. Though basically good natured, he wrestles with his temper and sometimes loses. He is a poor speaker and can become utterly inarticulate without a prepared text. His ambition for wealth make him acquisitive and sometimes contentious. Yet these qualities never appear to threaten his basic integrity.
Yes these things have all been said about George. BUT NOT about President George W. Bush. The above paragraph was a description of George Washington. Yeah, he was a bad one all right.
PATRIOT: (n) One who loves and zealously supports one’s own country
Now for some reason, it has become fashionable to question the patriotism of political candidates in this year’s Presidential campaign. I am not going to try to sit here and tell you that I do not have some serious reservations regarding the patriotism of some of the candidates and for that matter a good number of our elected officials. I don’t think we have to look very far into our recent history and our present Representatives and Senators to find some who do not appear to be all that supportive of our country and certainly not of our military. It also has recently been necessary in the eyes of some, for Barack Hussein Obama to profess just how patriotic he really is. Now since I am obviously a conservative and Barack Hussein Obama is a flaming liberal, and we share very few opinions on some major issues, I will not even attempt to say that I am completely unbiased in my opinion of Barack Hussein Obama and his followers. But I do question just exactly why the mainstream media, who are all in the tank for Obama, and the Obama supporters feel it necessary to keep reminding us of just how patriotic Barack Hussein Obama really is. Isn’t there an old line from a Shakespeare play which goes something like this: “Methinks he doth protest too loudly”, or words to that effect?
Now here comes a real insult. I was listening to the Laura Ingraham Show one morning this week when she took a call from an Obama supporter. This supporter said that he was not trying to minimize the service of John McCain nor his time spent in the military and five and one half years in a North Vietnamese prison, BUT that Barack Hussein Obama had also given of himself to the nation. He brought out the fact that after graduating from college, Barack Hussein Obama had spent several years as a “Community Organizer” in Chicago.
I was absolutely speechless to think that someone with so little grasp of reality could compare Barack Hussein Obama’s hard years spent as a “Community Organizer” to the Naval career and time spent as a prisoner of war of John McCain. If memory serves me correctly, it didn’t float very well with Miss Ingraham. What an absolute insult to our intelligence is this line of thinking. And what’s more, this clown can vote. Shameful!
Speaking of Barack Hussein Obama, he completely changed his position on the 2nd Amendment AFTER the Supreme Court handed down their ruling that the Washington D.C. firearms control law was UNCONSTITUTIONAL. I did see several film clips of Barack Hussein Obama making statements that he was in support of the Washington D.C. firearms ban, prior to this ruling. What really concerns me is the fact that it was declared Unconstitutional in another 5 to 4 vote with Justice Kennedy voting the right way for a change. Shameful!
OK. Now here is a little something. I heard this on one of the morning radio programs. Angela Jolie, who as you all know is not one of my absolute favorites, told one reporter in an interview that she owned handguns and knew how to use them and had received training in the use of firearms for her movie roles. Angelina Jolie said that she believed that the people have a Constitutional Right to own handguns and have the right to defend themselves. Now how is it that this airhead, with an IQ of a thermometer at Fahrenheit freezing point, has a better grasp of the Second Amendment than do FOUR of our Supreme Court Justices? Shameful!
I also heard a report and read a number of e-mails regarding the ACLU taking issue with a pre-meal prayer at the U.S. Naval Academy. It seems that 9, NINE, nueve, IX, students at the Academy were offended by this practice. OK. Nine students out of 4,200. That would be 1/466 th of the student body were offended. Is this the tail wagging the dog or what? I don’t understand some of these numbers that the media throw at us. I remember a few years back when they were reporting on the bird flu and one of the reports at that time was also that 9 people had died in China as a result. OK. Let’s break that down 9 deaths out of 1,321,851,888. Makes me want to head for cover all right. That works out to 1/1,469,056,876 th of China’s population was decimated by the bird flu. Point being is that it is absolutely criminal to have 9 students control the other 4,991 students as well as the staff. Shameful!
Then there is Retired Army General Wesley Clark. His statement regarding John McCain’s time spent in the Prison in Hanoi and his job as a Naval Pilot not being very good qualifications for John McCain to be aspiring to the Presidency and almost in the same breath making idiotic statements regarding just how qualified Barack Hussein Obama is to hold that position. He made the statements about Barack Hussein Obama’s service and experience and also added that Barack Hussein Obama possesses “Incredible Communication Skills”. HEY! Wesley! He possesses good communication skills if he has a prepared speech or if he is reading a Tele-Prompter. But to degrade John McCain while trying to raise the qualifications of this mutt are absurd. Shameful!
** You notice that I do not use Wesley Clark’ military title other than in the first sentence as a description, as I believe he has given up his right to be treated with respect over the past 4 years. I know lots of retired military officers and I do try to address them using their retired rank. They deserve it. Wesley Clark DOESN’T. Shameful!
Have you noticed that all of a sudden that Barack Hussein Obama is sporting his American Flag lapel pin? Someone must have told the world’s smartest and most articulate human that this could help him get votes. Here is another little item which should really help him get elected. It was announced today that Barbara Streisand has come out in support of Barack Hussein Obama. Hey! I don’t know about the rest of you but that sure changes my views. I had very little use for Barack Hussein Obama before this fact was known but I have changed, now I have NO USE AT ALL FOR HIM.
A few words about the Fourth of July. Independence Day. I think it was rather well put by member of the San Angelo Standard-Times editorial board: “The real reason for the Fourth of July is to celebrate freedom and the birth of our nation. We are governed by a representative body sworn to uphold the tenants of two historic documents. The Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution. Not only is this day the birth of our country, it is also a day which illustrates why the United States is honored and respected as well as feared and demeaned by so many around the world. It takes courage to protect those freedoms so openly fought for by those whom we honor on Memorial Day. Those who signed our Declaration of Independence had courage of conscience, willingness and conviction to put their lives on the line for generations to come.
Freedom, purchased by that commitment in 1776, is no less important of an obligation today. Freedom, a part of our way of life, is important to all who call themselves Americans. Freedom, as well as the rights and responsibilities associated with it, are never free. It has to be earned and celebrated, shared and protected, honored and remembered every day of our lives, lest we succumb to those who would take it from us and see us perish.”
I thought that was a pretty darn good description of what our Fourth of July, Independence Day, holiday should mean to us all.

“Mankind are very odd creatures: one half censure what they practice, the other half practice what they censure.” …BENJAMIN FRANKLIN

“How can a man or woman who makes an eight figure wage and lives in insane luxury really be a star in today’s world, if by star we mean someone bright and powerful and attractive as a role model? A real star is the soldier of the 4th Infantry Division who poked his head into a hole on a farm near Tikrit, Iraq. He could have been met by a bomb or a hail of AK-47 bullets. Instead, he faced an abject Saddam Hussein and the gratitude of all of the decent people of the world.” … BEN STEIN, In his last column.
I sincerely hope all of you and your families have a great July 4th. Don’t forget to pray each day for all of our brave men and women serving in our military along with their families.
I guess that about does it for another week. I do know that after reading the above quote by George Washington, I have less respect for four of our Supreme Court Justices; The mayor and city government of Washington, D.C.; and both Houses of Congress.
Please remember that whatever else we might have on our agenda to dedicate ourselves to work as hard as we can to insure that Senator John McCain is our next President. We cannot afford four years of an Obama Administration.
I guess I will go check and see if there are a few “Xenos” around the neighborhood who are in need of a really good “phobing”. I just wonder if you can “phobe” a “Xeno” while clinging to your guns? And if I have time I will see how they feel about being “Jingoed”.
Later
JEM
