The Absurd Report

Hello once again from the West Texas Branch of The Vast Ultra Right Wing Xenophobic Gun Clingers. I have pretty well decided that with a very few exceptions, both Houses of Congress need to be replaced in their entirety.

It seems that this past week the House Judiciary Committee under the lame leadership of Representative John Conyers decided that they needed to once again look into the outing of Valerie Plame and in typical fashion they called in a witness who has a credibility problem at the very least. Yes, I’m speaking of none other than that whining little twinkie, Scott McClellan. Once again one of these idiotic Congressional/Senate Committees is looking into something which has been resolved months ago. I believe that it is pretty common knowledge that Richard Armitage is the person who named Valerie Plame as a C.I.A. employee to a member of the media. My question into this whole business is, SO WHAT? Valerie Plame was not a spy nor an undercover operative and revealing her name was much ado about nothing. But our House of Representatives evidently missed that little bit of information and it has about as much to do with national security as if I were to tell the KGB that Adam “Pac Man” Jones is now tentatively a member of the Dallas Cowboys Football Team.

Speaking of Adam “Pac Man” Jones, once again this week, Don Imus made a comment which could be taken in the broadest sense as being racial against black athletes. But after hearing Don Imus’ explanation of his comment I could see that perhaps he was trying to make a point that Adam “Pac Man” Jones was in fact a victim of racial profiling by law enforcement. Of course if that is the case, I think Don Imus is full of crap in his assessment of the whole matter. But then again, I pretty well believe Don Imus to be full of crap in most of his views. Imus is a loud mouth liberal mutt. “Pac Man” Jones, a victim? This guy has multiple arrests for multiple offenses. But good ol’ Don Imus has a really good grasp of things. He said that perhaps “Pac Man” might have screwed up ONCE, and that everyone screws up every once in a while. But that “Pac Man” had been busted six times in the past couple of years which was a sure sign of police harassment. Now this reasoning leads me to believe that Don Imus is almost as proficient as a judge of character as former Surgeon General, Joycelyn Elders was a judge of firearms. Remember her asinine statement about what this country really needed was safer guns and safer bullets. So, Imus is in excellent company. Both complete mutts.

Hey! How ’bout that Israeli/Hamas Peace Agreement? Lasted a whole FIVE DAYS before the Palestinians began to fire rockets into Israel. How I wish that Benjamin Netanyahu were the Israeli Prime Minister. At what point in time is everybody going to realize that the Palestinians, particularly under the rule of Hamas is not going to keep any peace agreement with Israel? Ah, but wait. I’m sure that Barack Hussein Obama has a program which can finally bring peace to the Middle East. That will probably happen along about the same time that I am crowned King of Sweden.

Speaking of Barack Hussein Obama, he really seems to have a good grasp on how to solve our energy problems doesn’t he? This inexperienced idiot couldn’t tell you the difference in a barrel of crude oil and a jar of warm prairie dog urine. Yet here we are, almost on the verge of seeing this incompetent mutt take over as President of the United States. It is about time for Republicans, Conservative Democrats, Moderates and any other group you can think of, to take back control of this country from the socialists and a majority liberal Supreme Court. We can start this November by getting out in huge numbers to vote FOR Senator John McCain and where applicable vote for conservatives for the House and Senate seats which are up for grabs.

Now here is a prime example of the kind of arrogance shown by Barack Hussein Obama. Recently, he met with a group of black religious leaders. The meeting was closed to the press for a very valid reason. According to Team Obama the press was excluded due to the “Poor LIghting” in the facility. Let’s examine that line of reasoning, shall we? I am not completely sure that the print media needs all that much exotic lighting. I am not sure that someone using an audio tape recorder is relying all that much on lighting. And if memory serves me correctly, television cameras can operate quite successfully in fairly low light. Then you must ask yourself this question. What in the hell was he going to discuss with a bunch of religious leaders which would offend a press which is clearly “In The Tank” for Barack Hussein Obama? (OK, now for those of you living in the ‘People’s Republic Of San Francisco’, “In The Tank” means that the press is clearly Pro-Obama).

This is clearly another case of Barack Hussein Obama, who incidentally is being touted as the world’s most intelligent, dynamic, charismatic and articulate human, believing that he can pee on your foot and make you believe it is raining. And the pathetic part of that statement is that it is absolutely true for quite a large segment of our society.

A couple of days ago I was watching Bill O’Reilly and he had as his guests, two liberal college students, at least one of which was in law school. O’Reilly asked these people a series of questions and their answers made you want to burst into flames. God help us all if these brainwashed children ever get control of ANYTHING. Both of them were completely convinced that the government OWED free medical care to everyone. They were both convinced that if some people were out of work that it was up to the government to CREATE jobs for them. They both felt that every American citizen should be guaranteed a nice home should they so desire, whether they could afford one or not, it was up to the government to provide them the shelter and food they and their families needed. Not one word about personal responsibility. Not one word about effort on the part of those people. No they just wrote it off as those people were simply “Less Fortunate” than many others. And of course their education should be guaranteed by the government according to these two geniuses. And of course they were completely in favor of income redistribution. These young people were completely brainwashed in socialist ideas.

Also this week we all heard about the plight of long time TV icon, Ed McMahon who was loosing his home as he could not afford to make the payments. Now I don’t like to see anyone lose their home. However, Ed McMahon as I have read has made in his lifetime in excess of 75 million dollars. One must inquire as to what he did with his cash. Now they went on to say that the house was in Beverly Hills and was priced at something like $4.5 million dollars. Ed McMahon is in his 80s. Do you suppose that just perhaps he could have scaled down the cost of his home? I know that many of us have had to do exactly that. With whom did Mr. McMahon have his little Beverly Hills bungalow financed? The report I heard was that it was through, yes you guessed it, COUNTRYWIDE. Name sound familiar? Oh, isn’t that the company who gave a VIP Loan to Connecticut Democrat Senator, Chris Dodd? Yes, I believe it was. Oh, and doesn’t Senator Dodd have something to do with the Banking Committee? Yes, I believe he does.

Now I am not trying to make fun of Mr. McMahon’s situation. As a matter of fact, I really liked his style on the old Johnny Carson Show but once again, doesn’t personal responsibility have a place in all of this?

I guess in the eyes of Congress it doesn’t since they are presently working on a $300 BILLION DOLLAR bail out of these bad mortgages. Now I not only do not feel responsible for Ed McMahon’s situation, but I also feel no responsibility for the thousands of other people who made purchases and loans ,which at the time of purchase, the buyers AND the lending institutions knew that these people could not afford. It almost looks like our elected officials are being controlled by the two socialist college idiots that O’Reilly had on his show.

Yesterday on one of the premium TV Channels they showed a movie which I had not seen in quite a while. “The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas”. It starred; Burt Reynolds; Dolly Parton; Dom DeLuise; Jim Nabors; and last but certainly not least, Charles Durning. Charles Durning absolutely stole the show with his song and dance number near the end of the movie. It brought to mind something I had read about Charles Durning several years back. He took part in the invasion at Normandy on D-Day. He was an Army Ranger and was awarded the Silver Star and Purple Heart. Now the movie was a light hearted comedy about the “Chicken Ranch” which was a house of prostitution in Texas from the days of the Civil War on through the 1970s. I don’t recall the names of the characters in the movie nor the name of the town but the actual “Chicken Ranch” was located in Fayette County, Texas. Of course the old madam who ran it looked nothing like Dolly Parton. And Burt Reynolds looked nothing like the Fayette County Sheriff but there were some similarities in the Houston TV Reporter in the movie and the real guy. There was not much in the movie which was factual other than that the people in the town of LaGrange,Texas knew about the Chicken Ranch and had no problems with it being in operation all those years. In the movie Burt Reynolds knocked Dom DeLuise on his rear end. That actually happened but not in the State Capitol as shown in the movie.

The real Sheriff of Fayette County from 1946 until 1980 was supposed to be the character portrayed by Burt Reynolds. Prior to being Fayette County Sheriff he was a Deputy Sheriff in Kenedy and Fayette Counties and was a Texas Ranger from 1941 until 1946. He had a total of 54 years as a law enforcement officer in the State of Texas. His name was T.J. “Big Jim” Flournoy. This was one tough old customer. Yeah, he had the Chicken Ranch operating in his county but there wasn’t a heck of a lot of crime that went unsolved and unpunished. I had the pleasure of meeting Sheriff Flournoy on several occasions and had nothing but respect for him. He was a really nice man and didn’t put up with a bunch of crap from anyone. And they didn’t call him “Big Jim” for nothing. He was a really good sized man and was what I pictured that a Texas County Sheriff should be like.

In last Sunday’s San Angelo Standard Times there was an article on the sport page which I found very interesting. About 90 miles due North of San Angelo is a little town on Interstate 20 named Roscoe. It is the home of the “Roscoe Plowboys” and they are one bad Class 1A football team. They are in the playoffs every year and have won the State Championship several times. For the past couple of years they have had a young man playing on their football team by the name of Britt Mitchell. Now his young man stood 6′ 8″ and weighed in at 325 pounds. Every major college recruiter in the country was after this young man to play football for their school. He passed up his final semester at Roscoe to enroll early at the University of Oklahoma. He was the only player from a Class 1A school to sign with a Division I College.

But on June 10, the day after his 19th birthday, Britt Mitchell left the University of Oklahoma and a full scholarship to join the United States Marines. His teammates were shocked and couldn’t understand why. Mitchell said that he put it to them as simply as he could. “I told them I’m an American first and a Sooner second.” Mitchell stayed at Oklahoma through the spring workouts, came home for a three week summer break and then returned to Norman for more workouts to give football one final chance. He was worried about what his home town folks would think but his high school coach told him that they were behind him 100%. He has been running and biking and trying to run off a few pounds to prepare for basic training. I thought this was a great story and shows what kind of character many of our young people have. God bless this young man for the sacrifice he is making.
