Longtime American Citizen, Journalism, Found Dead at Age 200+

One of America’s oldest professions was found dead it’s office yesterday. Investigators preliminary findings indicate that the victims died of massive complications from the deadly virus known as PLB (Profound Liberal Bias). Investigators believe that based upon the accumulation of manure that was found throughout the office, that many of the victims may have been dead for as much as 30-40 years. The deceased is survived by no one. Funeral arrangements will not be made – sources close to the few remaining vestiges of unbiased reporting mediums indicate that thousands of celebratory events nationwide seem to be the choice of acknowledgement to the ‘loss’ of this once respected profession. In lieu of flowers, the buildings maintenance staff has asked that all donations be directed to the PLB Foundation so that the remains can be buried in the family plot alongside Karl Marx.
Sad, but oh so very true. Unbiased news reporting is a dying, if not dead, profession. This commentary could be dedicated to most newspapers, but I will give a special dedication to the Chicago Tribune – the journalistic embarrassment of the Midwest. Specific “journalists” will vary by day, but today’s ‘Make a Joke of the Story’ award goes to Tribune reporters Bonnie Rubin and Mark Silva along with their liberally biased mentors on the editorial staff of Gerould Kern and, of course, the publisher (Tony Hunter).
Like most liberal rags, the Libune (using writer Teri O’Brien’s favorite Tribune tag – you can find Teri at www.TeriOBrien.com and as a contributor at www.AmericanThinker.com) relies upon the gullibility and apathy of the American public by distorting news with misleading headlines – knowing full well that too many people merely scan the headlines and lead-ins to gather their news – the same people that rely on the likes of Leno, Letterman, Oprah, The View, and Conan for their alternative sources of “news”. Let’s look at some recent examples – suffice it to say, it doesn’t take a trained investigator to find them.
October 23, 2008 – The upper half of the front page shows a headline for a lead-in to a page 38 story “Dow loses another 5.7% of its value” (514 point decline). Where was the comparable headline on Tuesday when the Dow rose 413 points the prior day? This is all a part of the Libune’s steady diet of liberal bias – the sole purpose of which is to downplay Republicans and conservatives, associate them with bad news, and boost the image of their Messiah, Barack Hussein Obama. There is no other excuse for this abusive and deceitful practice. Why not try some true investigative reporting – without a predetermined conclusion? Where are the in-depth exposes on Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, Franklin Raines, and Jim Johnson and their collective impact on the current state of the economy?
Same day, front page – Reporter Bonnie Rubin writes a mind-numbing article entitled “Putting family first is hard work”. That’s supposed to be a story? No kidding – but to people that place family first when it comes to their careers, it’s a no-brainer – it’s what we are committed to do as part of raising a family. But the supposed essence of the story is not my point – the lead-in to this masterpiece reads “As Obama attends to his grandmother, a look at choices many Americans make between jobs and family”. Do you think this article has an ulterior motive? Rush Limbaugh hit the nail on the head yesterday when a caller raised a question about Obama’s true motives in visiting his grandmother. Rush’s response was dead on – it doesn’t make a difference what Obama’s real intent was – the real story is that his adoring media accomplices will latch on to his story (just like reporter Rubin) in order to demonstrate his supposed family priorities. Case closed! Oh, and it would have been nice if Obama had not already thrown his “white grandmother” under the proverbial bus back in March when he “innocently” ridiculed her for her white bias. It would also be nice in demonstrating his attachment to family and family values if he wasn’t a staunch advocate of infanticide – the same Obama who stated he wouldn’t want “his daughters to be punished” because of a crisis pregnancy What a family guy!
Same day, front page main headline – Reporter Rick Pearson’s article “Tribune Poll: Blagojevich Popularity, 13% – The governor’s approval rating amount Illinois voters is even lower than Bush’s” says it all in the headline – no need to read further, because the damage from this dual-edged sword was sufficient. Don’t believe that the Libune is being fair by picking on Blago in the headline. A 13% favorability rating is surprisingly high for Blago – no one likes or respects him ( just goes to prove that the Chicago Democratic machine could get anyone elected). The less than subtle comparison to President Bush, however, is the real zinger. Not that the nation’s liberal “journalists” haven’t worked diligently to tear down the reputation of Bush for 8 years, but how about contrasting Blago’s rating to that of the Democrat-controlled Congress – it’s much lower than the manufactured Bush rating. Nonetheless, it’s all a part of the Libune and the rest of the liberal press’ strategy to flavor and choose the “news”.
Same day, page 3 – Mark Silva directs his venom toward Sarah Palin and the cost of her wardrobe – this ties nicely to his Monday article that attacked Palin by mocking her in comparison to an SNL comedienne. This is supposed to be news? This is journalistic trash from a piece of human feces – it is not news. Try doing a revealing, unbiased comparison of Sarah Palin’s experience in government – particularly in a leadership role. Mayoral, gubernatorial, and presidential roles are executive offices, and as such, require true leadership to be effective in what is a managerial role. Senators and Representatives do not have comparable leadership responsibilities. In Obama’s case, he has virtually no managerial leadership experience – ever. Couple her approval rating and her leadership experience with the facts that she has a higher security level rating than Obama (due to her role as role as commander and chief of the Alaskan National Guard) and that she does not pal around with anti-American zealots as does Obama – and you’ve got a picture that even a brain-dead Chicago politician could understand.
The Libune and its co-conspirators in the field of media bias have done great damage to the once respected field of journalism. They publish the “news” that serves their biased agenda, pepper the “news” that needs embellishing, and omit the true news that runs counter to their beliefs. If Obama wins, hopefully this country will not go down in flames before true American values can be restored. If and when that restoration is complete, you so-called reporters for the Libune had better find another line of work – either that or a country that is as far to the Left (as in Wrong) as you are.
