I Know It Was You Senator Graham. You Broke My Heart. You Broke My Heart!

Right when the Republicans are gaining momentum by standing behind a winning issue, an issue that could thwart a Democratic landslide in November, spineless Republicans in name only are guaranteeing that Barack Obama and the Democrats successfully destroy the American economy.
Right when Newt Gingrich, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, and other proud Conservatives, are fighting for American energy independence, which includes drilling here and drilling now, some Republicans are deciding to choke the life out of the movement. As usual, the man behind this charade is Senator Lindsey Graham.
After this is over, Senator Lindsey Graham might be remembered as one of the most disgraceful Republicans in history if Barack Obama gets elected. Right now, John McCain has hit his stride because Barack Obama’s energy policy has amounted to nothing more than inflating tires. But, Senator Graham is working diligently to ensure that Barack Obama and the Democrats win in a massive landslide this November, while hurting America’s poor and middleclass.
But for Senator Graham’s new initiative, Barack Obama was going to be on the defensive up until November. So what is Senator Graham doing that is so detestable? He is against drilling and the sound energy policy that John McCain needs to win the Presidency. In fact, four other Republicans have jumped on the bandwagon.
Senators Lindsey Graham, John Thune, Saxby Chambliss, Bob Corker and Johnny Isakson have come concocted a revolting “bipartisan” energy plan with five other Democrats that would make every radical environmentalists cheer.
Graham’s new proposal leaves States to veto whether or not we drill offshore. While I am a staunch supporter of federalism, the States have never had jurisdiction over our Oceans, and this will do nothing but ensure that we never drill at all. In fact, oil companies would only be allowed to drill 50 miles off four coastal States, leaving most of the inner oil-rich regions left untouched. Lastly, ANWR is left to the Caribou and wastelands.
For those of you who may be curious as to how this will do anything to meet our energy needs, the answer is that it will do nothing, and the price of oil will continue to skyrocket. To make matters worse, $84 billion in tax credits, subsidies and federal welfare for ethanol is thrown into the proposal. Evidently, Senator Graham believes starving half of the third-world while increasing the price of food was so much fun this past winter. But, not to worry, the oil companies are going to see their taxes raised to pay for all the ethanol subsidies. This entire proposal is an abject embarrassment.
Lastly, when Lindsey Graham wonders why I singled him out over the other Senators, the fact of the matter is that Graham always takes pleasure at attacking Republicans when they are on the right side of the issues. Only one Republican could have mustered the spinelessness to start another gang of 10, bringing other Republicans on board: I know it was You Lindsey. You broke my heart. You broke my heart!
If you want to be one of the “Loud Folks,” Senator Graham’s number is (202) 224-5972.
