What does that mean? Its an acronym for “Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act.” You may remember a bit of a flap at the end of last week. Nancy Pelosi bowed to the wishes of the Kucinich wing of the Democrat Party without bringing up a bill that allows our government to continue eavesdropping on Islamic terrorists. Now .. why would Princess Nancy try to derail this bill? Well … let’s see. There are a bunch of trial lawyers out there who are suing telecommunications companies on behalf of clients who ended up on the wrong side of some of the eavesdropping. These trial lawyers have donated more than $1.5 million to Democrats. They don’t want the bill passed. They don’t want the bill passed because it grants immunity to telecommunications companies who participated in the government-requested eavesdropping.
What we have here is trial lawyers putting their fees and Democrats putting their contributions above the needs of the government to keep an eye on suspected Islamic terrorists. Gotta love those Democrats.
SideBear: Follow the money.
