The biggest problem with political correctness is its net effect on society. People don’t talk to each other anymore because someone told them that they have a right to not be offended, ever, over anything, even if offending them is the right thing to do.
We’re not supposed to use terms like “winner” anymore, because “losers” find the term offensive. We’re not supposed to talk about such antiquated terms as “right” or “wrong” because in a politically correct open society, there is no such thing, and to suggest that there is might offend someone, namely the wrong.
Likewise in politics, we’re not supposed to use terms like “communist” or “socialist” to describe those who subscribe to communist or socialist principles and policies. They prefer to be called “progressive” or “liberals” or “democrats” now.
And God forbid if someone who believes in foundational American values ever stumbles into a room full of “progressives.” We’re not even supposed to talk to each other because aside from potentially offending each other, we might actually make some sense to each other and then where would that leave all the politicians who need all Americans to be divided into nice neat voting blocs, easy to pander to?
When former Senator Phil Gramm recently suggested that the nation of what ever it takes winners had turned into a nation of do nothing “whiners,” people across the country were horrifically offended – Whiners of course. He was right, by the way.
