And Then There Where Two

The primary election results from Florida did not supply us with any unexpected surprises but going into Super Tuesday next week our voting choices seemed to be limited to two viable candidates, John McCain and Mitt Romney.

Even tough the John McCain won in a tight finish yesterday over Mitt Romney, I still have some reservations that he can go all the way to the Republican nomination. I can live with Romney and vote for him in November but when it comes to McCain, I am not sure.

I am not conceding any nomination to McCain’s “Double Talking Express” at this point but the possibility certainly is looming there because Romney does have several past record “boggy mans” to overcome and they will come to light as the field narrows down. (More on Romney another day) But notice I say ‘live with’ because he has yet to light a fire in me and many other conservatives that is needed to push him over the top.

John McCain military record is unquestionable but this alone does not qualify him to be commander-in-chief and on the Iraq War he was solid as a Hawk can be but that is where McCain and I part company. On every other issue that is important to me and like thinking conservative McCain present a problem for me and most conservatives.

This is the season for promising the peasants anything for their vote but when push comes to shove a President John McCain will be delivering “Broken Promises.” On the home front a McCain presidency will do as much damage to this country as anything that the white woman or black man could do. Whether it is John McCain, Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama it doesn’t matter because all three of them are as liberal as they come.

As died-in-the-wool conservative I am not sure what I will do given a choice in November between John McCain for President vs. Hillary or Obama because I am tired on compromising my conservative principles and ideology and voting for the lesser of “two evils”.

I see myself as a conservative first and foremost who votes more often than not Republican but when the Republican Party offer me a candidate like John McCain, they served notice that conservatism doesn’t count in this party anymore. Sure they want my vote but what do they offer in return?

A Liberal who will push for open borders and Amnesty for all illegal immigrants.

A Liberal who authored a bill with Senator Feingold to limit the ‘Right of Free Speech’ of the people during election time.

A Liberal who believes a carbon tax is necessary to offset global warming.

A Liberal who will gladly go along with a Democratic Congress in raising income taxes.

A Liberal who says that Supreme Court Justice Sam Alito is too conservative and would not appoint conservative justices in his ilk.

A Liberal who voted against drilling for oil in ANWR and you pay the price at the pump today for his vote.

A Liberal who will give undeserved rights to terrorists that will put our National Security at risk.

A Liberal who voted against the Bush income tax cuts and will not support making these tax cuts permanent.

A Liberal who caucuses with the Democrats Senators more often than Republicans (Russ Feingold, Joe Lieberman and all conservatives arch enemy Ted Kennedy)

IS THIS WHO THE REPUBLICAN PARTY EXPECTS ME TO VOTE FOR?

The Republican Party establishment is promoting John McCain as the only one who can beat the Hildabeast or the magic Negro but sometimes when you win, you loose. If the country has to take a big step backwards to learn a hard lessons of liberalism than wouldn’t it be better to have a Democrat in the White House to blame?

I am sharing my inner thoughts and feelings with you but by no means should you comprise your own individuality come November, your decision should be based on your own set of standards. This is my own dilemma and what I will do come election day, God only knows, but going fishing is an option.

I just wonder how many conservatives feel the way I do?

An e-mail from Jim Mc …. McCain Conservatie?????

I’ve heard people batting around McCain’s 85% ACU rating as a conservative credential. As with too many other things about him; there’s less here than meets the eye. His lifetime ACU rating is 83%, so that’s close enough. But his rating for 2006 is 65%, which clearly places him among GOP “moderates” in the Senate.

In other words the question should be: What has he done for us lately?

Answer: Very little that conservatives applaud, and here I include his absurd 2007 posing, that he was singularly responsible for the Iraq turn-around.
