Minnesota: Muslim Battle Ground

When you add up a lot of little things you begin to see a lot, so let’s start adding up what has been happening in Minnesota. Let’s examine the possibility of Minnesota establishing Sharia Law in the United States.
Minnesota is home for tens of thousands of Somali Muslims who are recent immigrants to this country. At the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport — about four out of five taxi drivers are Muslim; several years ago troubling incidents started to happen starting with the refusal to transport passengers carrying alcohol. Since that time there have been thousands of refusals for taxi service.
Islam prohibits the consumption of alcohol but not its transportation, according to Somalis who reject the taxi drivers’ stance. Yet in June 2006, the Muslim American Society‘s (MAS) Minnesota chapter issued a “fatwa” forbidding drivers here from carrying alcohol to avoid “cooperating in sin.”
The leader of the Minnesota chapter of Muslim American Society (MAS) is none other than Omar Shahin. He was also one of the detained “six flying imams” who were removed from a US Airways flight last year. The Chicago Tribune has described MAS as the American arm of the fundamentalist Muslim Brotherhood, which “preaches that religion and politics cannot be separated and that governments eventually should be Islamic.”
Last week, the six flying imams filed suit in a U.S. district court in Minneapolis against US Airways and the Metropolitan Airports Commission, claiming discrimination and defamation. They also added ‘John Does’ (unnamed passengers who reported their irrational behavior to the airlines) as defendants. Let’s not mince words here; this is a form of intimidation and a warning against the traveling public to keep your mouth shut.
Now let’s add in the latest incident in Minnesota; Muslim cashiers at the Twin Cities Target stores have begun refusing to scan pork products, like bacon and pepperoni pizza, and insisting that other cashiers or the customers do it themselves.
Ahmed Samatar, a recognized expert on Somali society at Macalester College in St. Paul notes that “There is a general Islamic prohibition against drinking, but carrying alcohol for people in commercial enterprise has never been forbidden.” Similarly, Islam prohibits consuming pork, but not touching or scanning it, according to Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf of the American Society for Muslim Advancement in New York. It is, or should be, “a non-issue.”
What should be, “a non-issue” is definitely becoming an issue as radical Muslims are using our civil rights laws to promote Islamist activism. Both MAS and CAIR are stumping for a bill, which would bar airport security personnel from disproportionately questioning Muslims or people of Middle Eastern descent. Minnesota’s Keith Ellison, the nation’s first Muslim Congressman, stated that the imams’ situation reflects a misunderstanding of Muslim prayer and will be sorted out in court, while the other matters stem from the “normal process of immigrant adjustment.”
The “normal process of immigrant adjustment”…. Therein lies the problem, as these people have no wish to adjust to the American way of life and they are hell bent on changing America into a Muslim Society. They are intent on looking for confrontation and eventually confrontation is what they will get when the American public says enough!
Minnesota’s answer should be…adjust, assimilate or your ‘outta’ here.

House votes to protect ‘John Does’ on flights
House Republicans yesterday surprised Democrats with a procedural vote to protect public-transportation passengers from being sued if they report suspicious activity — the first step by lawmakers to protect “John Doe” airline travelers already targeted in such a lawsuit.
After a heated debate and calls for order, the motion to recommit the Democrats’ Rail and Public Transportation Security Act of 2007 back to committee with instructions to add the protective language passed on a vote of 304-121.
All 121 of the “no” votes were cast by Democrats, while 199 Republicans and 105 Democrats voted in favor.
Republicans said the lawsuit filed by six Muslim imams against US Airways and “John Does,” passengers who reported suspicious behavior, could have a “chilling effect” on passengers who may fear being sued for acting vigilant.

Muslims offer to help ‘John Does’ sued by imams
Lawyers and a Muslim group say they will defend at no cost airline passengers caught up in a lawsuit between a group of imams and U.S. Airways if the passengers are named as “John Does” and sued for reporting suspicious behavior that got the Muslim clerics booted from a November flight.
The six imams are suing the airline, Minneapolis-St. Paul Metropolitan Airports Commission, and the unnamed “John Does” to be named later, for discrimination, saying they were removed from the flight for praying in the airport.

Americans Are Not Scared Enough…
Learned people around the world cannot fathom that the mighty super power America, who has somewhere around 144,000 soldiers plus supporting personnel in Iraq, can’t seem to beat the terrorists. That’s not my words, I think we can win with…
