Hillary Clinton: Pandering To The Masses

Here’s a quote from the Hildabeast:
“We cannot cede sovereignty over critical infrastructure like our ports. This is a job that America has to do.”
Pretty good attempt at interjecting herself into current events, but…
Our ports aren’t run by the US now. They’re run by the British. And we aren’t talking about every single one of our ports. We’re talking about six.
Good job of doing that good ol’ background research, Hillary.
[Edit: In all fairness, I really have no opinion on the well-publicized "Port Deal". I can see President Bush’s point that the U.A.E. are valuable Allies in the War on Terror. I also recognize that our largest airbase in the Middle East is located in the U.A.E., and the U.A.E. is well within striking distance of Iran.
As a counterpoint, however, we really do need to take responsibility for the running of our own ports. There are very few US companies that could do that, the most notable one being Halliburton/Kellog, Brown, and Root. Unfortunately, with most of their assests already committed to our interests in the Middle East… who else can we turn to?
To be honest, though…denying the opportunity to bid on the administration of the ports to one of our Allies, for the sole reason that they are Arab, gives a horribly racist impression to the rest of the world. If the British ran those six ports before, and they were also our Allies in the War on Terror… what reason do we have to deny the opportunity to another one of our allies?]
